Nasty Boys, rap battles...

I'm getting more attached to Copenhagen everyday. Maybe I really meant it when I said I'm never coming back home. Yesterday morning was pretty chill. I went with my roommmates to help them buy bikes afterwards we went grocery shopping to make our FIRST home cooked meal: cheese pizza with onions and tomatoes accented by red wine. Yes, we can cook! IT WAS DELICIOUS! I know you are jealous. By the way, the plums here are delightful. Even more so, the bread is HEAVEN. We also found more random stuff in our apartment: a zippo light, tiki lights, a bag of coal...We decided to throw a basement party sometime soon. We have a door in the living room/kitchen that leads underground to a washing machine and further down into a BASEMENT. Previous residents threw their parties there.

After dinner, Anna, Fran and I rested for a bit before heading out to Rust, a multi-level dance club. Its literally a ten minute walk from our apartment. Apparently we live in the 24 hour party part of Copenhagen (Norreboro), well at least according to the visitor's guide. We also learned that the clubs don't really start happening til after midnight. Rust closes at 5am! Its such a fun atmosphere! The club actually opens at 9pm where a few bands play before midnight and after that the dancing begins. We can just in time to see last set, in which 5 really old men were half naked with duct tape attached to different parts of their bodies doing covers to NASTY BOY and SEXUAL. The Danes are really into singing songs in English. At one point, the leader singer ripped the duct tape that was covering his nipple and ATE the hair that was on the back of the adhesive side! That made my night! Afterwards they played an encore and we went upstairs to get our drinks. Tuborg beer is tasty. I recommend it.

We got our drinks and went into lowest floor called the Bassment, and sat down in a very IKEAish booth. And that's were we spotted him! A very cute bartender with NO customers. Since we were at the "early" hours of the club, no one was dancing yet. So we spent our time making eye contact with people in the club. Finally by 1am, the club was packed. We decided to dance on the Bassment floor. The one thing cool about European clubs is that girls are not slutty. Actually they were all fashionably dressed, hey, isn't Europea ahead in fashion by three years? I was impressed. While dancing, one guy kept offering his drink to me and another with a shirt that read "SAFE STREET" kept nudging his arm into me motioning me to dance with him. One thing stays the same, SOME PEOPLE DON'T get the hint! We dance for a couple more rounds and headed home when they started to play reggae. After having bread and milk, I crashed around 4am.

Today is hopefully a chill day. Its the sunday before school starts. My roommates and I have plans for the weekend after next, we are talking about going to a RAP BATTLE. Okay (1) Who doesn't want to see DANES rap? (2) Who doesn't want to hear rap in DANISH? Yes, this is the Danish 8 Mile for you. We also planning our trip to OKTOBERFEST! Looks like I am going to GERMANY!
